4 Day Adventure Cruise Itinerary

This is a basic itinerary - no written itinerary can capture the scenery, the solitude or the exact locations of wildlife that frequents Prince William Sound.

Day One - Bear Valley Road Runner Shuttle will pick you up about 9 am* at your Anchorage hotel and bring you to Whittier, arriving 11 am. After loading up and a short safety briefing, we’ll shove off and begin your Alaska adventure.

Day one includes visiting one of the largest salmon hatcheries in North America, an optional hike to a hidden waterfall, cruising to a tufted puffin colony and visiting a sea lion haul out that supports hundreds of sea lions.

A late afternoon cruise into southwestern Prince William Sound viewing wildlife along the way will bring us to a favorite shrimping spot where we will bait and launch shrimp pots. Depending on the time and guest preference, we’ll do some exploring by inflatable boat, kayaking or hiking before anchoring for the evening in one of Knight Island many spectacular coves.

*Shuttle can be removed from the itinerary if you have other transportation. 

Day Two begins with a home cooked breakfast, pulling the shrimp pots and cruising into Icy Bay and up to Chenega Glacier at the head of Nassau Fiord. Drifting near the face of Chenega Glacier offers an incredible example of mother nature at work.

The afternoon will be spent whale watching, beach combing, kayaking or exploring small coves by inflatable boat. In season, we will anchor near a salmon stream and watch for bears that catch and feed on the salmon.

Day Three - The majority of the day will be spent pursuing halibut, salmon or both. We offer fair warning here- those who choose not to fish, often regret it. Teaching people how to fish is often a highlight of the trip for everyone, including crew. Eating fresh halibut or salmon makes a great day of fishing even better.

Day Four - David will begin your return to port early with breakfast served along the way. Arriving in Whittier about lunch time, you will be invited to have lunch at one of Whittier’s local restaurants(David’s buying) before your afternoon departure back to Anchorage.

• Groups of 7-12 can be accommodated using both of our boats.
